Boston TeranWritten in 2009, this novel begins on a Kentucky back road where Dean, just back from service in Iraq, struggles to avoid hitting what looks like a dog in the middle of the road. It does turn out to be a dog and its name is Giv. Dean learns that the dog's owner lived in New Orleans at the time of Hurricane Katrina when the two became seperated. Giv has had many journeys since that time, but never seems to have lost his spirit and continues to impact everyone he meets in a positive way. Dean and Giv end up saving each other.
