Jennifer K. Spillman, MLIS
Jennifer Spillman is the Executive Director for the Muskingum County Library System. Jennifer grew up in southeastern Ohio and is proud to return to the area and make Zanesville her home as she works to elevate library services in the county. Jennifer has been serving patrons in academic and public libraries since 1991. She is a passionate library leader continuously striving to serve and create connections among 21st century learners, helping them to grow, enhance, and construct knowledge in innovative ways in a welcoming, inspiring, and empowering library atmosphere. Her main purpose, as that of the timeless library, is to focus on the people who unify our communities; knowing and understanding their needs and guiding the provision of relevant library services to encourage exploration, creation, and collaboration. She endeavors to help people believe in themselves, achieve their dreams, and to attain success in life.
Jennifer holds a BS in Management and a Minor in Business Administration from Ohio University and a Masters in Library and Information Science from Kent state University. She served as Board President & Treasurer of SWON Libraries and is active in both OLC and ALA.
When not at work Jennifer enjoys gardening, traveling with her robust family of 5 children, and volunteering her services to provide meals for the less fortunate.
