EARLY CHILDHOOD LITERACY SPECIALIST
The Muskingum County Library System seeks an individual with the expertise and passion to develop literacy skills in young children to foster lifelong readers. Applicant must be experienced in developing and presenting programs for children birth to age 5 that introduce literacy skills. Computer experience with emphasis on Internet searching is required. Responsibilities include: Planning and presenting children’s programs, reference services, and assisting in materials selection and collection development. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education (Preschool – grade 3). Salary: $14.32 per hour (20 hours per week) Benefits: Nine paid holidays, and 93 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) earned annually. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; availability to work evenings and weekends.
Knowledge, skills and abilities: Ability to organize items in alphabetical and numerical order, learn library policies and procedures, communicate effectively and perform physical labor. Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System and skill in organizing.
This position reports directly to the Circulation Services Coordinator.
