Poems can sometimes seem mysterious or even incomprehensible, but writing them – and reading them – allows us to experience the world and ourselves in new ways. All ages are welcome to participate in this session which will include reading published poems, writing to prompts, and learning about and practicing the use of poetic tools. Elizabeth Christy is a freelance editor and practicing poet. Her poems have appeared in The Stockholm Review of Literature, The Nagatuck River Review, and The Centrifugal Eye. Registration is requested and space limited for this free program. You may reserve your spot below or by contacting the Reference Desk at John McIntire Library – 740.453.0391, ext. 116 or 132.
