Brenda Nixon, speaker and author of Beyond Buggies and Bonnets: Seven True Stories of Former Amish, will share her unique insights and amazing stories of the fascinating Amish American sub culture. With her emphasis on the reclusive Swartzentruber Order, Brenda's book chronicles her experiences "adopting" two Amish runaways, befriending and helping others, and actually becoming mother-in-law to an ex-Amish. The Friends of the New Concord Branch Library invite you to their annual sale of gently used books and more all at bargain prices. The last hour of the sale is a buck-a-bag sale where the Friends will be selling bags for $1.00. Customers may then fill the bag with as many treasures as they choose. Proceeds benefit programs at the branch library.
