AAUW Women's History Month - The Remarkable Women Who Flew Military Aircraft in World War II presented by Betty Darst

Betty Darst is well known nationally for her living history portrayals. This in-demand speaker will share the stories of some of the most unsung heroines of World War II - the first American women to fly military aircraft. In addition to her role as a popular speaker, Betty is the vice president of the National Aviation Hall of Fame and an adjunct professor at Wright State University. Y-City Edcamp

Educators from across Muskingum County and surrounding counties are invited to attend the first annual Y-City Edcamp, a free "unconference" for educators. The idea is simple: educators have an opportunity to come together to share what works, to ask the questions that need answered, and to develop their next big idea. The session is driven by those who attend, and the topics up for discussion are the topics that they want to talk about. The general theme for this year's event is Literacy. Topics could include, but are not limited to:

Book Discussion - Still Life with Bread Crumbs by Anna Quindlen

In this novel, author Anna Quindlen penned a wry and knowing portrait of Rebecca Winter, a photographer whose work made her an unlikely heroine for many women. Registered participants will be loaned a copy of the book. Registration is requested, limited and free of charge.
