The Muskingum County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society (MCCOGS) will be celebrating the opening of the John McIntire Library on May 1.
To celebrate, MCCOGS has reprinted Before Dillon: Memories of the Lost Villages of Nashport, Irville, and Pleasant Valley. The books will cost $30, and the authors, Mari McLean and Rose Ellen Jenkins, will be autographing copies of the book during the Open House from 4–7 pm on May 1. Only 50 copies are available.
If you have previously purchased a copy of Before Dillon, you may bring that book in for autographs as well.
MCCOGS will also be having a sale on Warning High Water Ahead. This is a photographic history of the 1913 flood in Zanesville compiled by Tom Brown. Copies are on sale for $15.
MCCOGS is entirely operated by volunteers and appreciates the space the Muskingum County Library System has given them for over thirty years.
The Genealogy Library will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 1:30 pm
after the reopening.
