Quick Facts
Creating a Beanstack Account
  1. Go to muskingumlibrary.beanstack.org.
  2. Click on “Sign Up” or “Register.”
  3. Fill out the registration form with your information, including your name, email address, and library card number (if required).
  4. Create a unique username and password.
  5. Click “Sign Up” to create your account.
Logging In
  1. Visit muskingumlibrary.beanstack.org.
  2. Click on “Log In.”
  3. Enter your username and password.
  4. Click “Log In” to access your account.
Exploring Challenges and Programs

Browse through a variety of reading challenges and programs available on Beanstack. These may include summer reading programs, book clubs, themed reading challenges, and more. You can filter challenges by age group, interests, and reading levels to find ones that suit your preferences.

Tracking Your Reading

Once you’ve joined a reading challenge or program, start logging your reading sessions. You can log books manually by entering their titles and authors, or use the barcode scanner feature to quickly add books to your reading log. Beanstack also allows you to track your reading time and pages read, giving you a comprehensive view of your reading habits.

Earning Badges and Rewards

As you make progress toward your reading goals, you’ll earn badges and rewards along the way. These may include virtual badges for reaching milestones, entry into prize drawings, or special incentives offered by the library. Keep reading, completing activities, and participating in challenges to unlock more rewards!

How to Write Book Reviews on Beanstack

On Beanstack, book reviews play a crucial role in guiding fellow readers toward new discoveries and informed reading choices.

Adhering to our guidelines fosters a positive and supportive community for all. When crafting your review, remember to keep it clear, concise, and centered on the book’s content, themes, characters, and overall reading experience. Avoid spoilers and refrain from sharing personal information to maintain privacy and safety for users of all ages. These expectations ensure that reviews on Beanstack are helpful, respectful, and suitable for everyone, creating a safe and enjoyable reading environment.

Please note that not all reviews submitted will be approved for public display. They will undergo review by library staff to ensure adherence to guidelines and the absence of inappropriate content. Once approved, your reviews will be visible on the Beanstack platform for other users to benefit from. Thank you for contributing!

For Children (Ages 0-12)
  • Children are encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings about the book they’ve read.
  • Reviews should be at least 2-3 sentences long.
  • Children can talk about what they liked or didn’t like about the book, their favorite characters, and why they would recommend it to others.
For Teens (Ages 13-17)
  • Teens should provide a thoughtful analysis of the book, including its strengths and weaknesses.
  • Reviews should be at least 3-5 sentences long.
  • Teens can discuss the book’s themes, writing style, character development, and how it impacted them personally.
For Adults (Ages 18+)
  • Adults are expected to provide a comprehensive review that gives insight into the book’s merits and flaws.
  • Reviews should be at least 5-7 sentences long.
  • Adults can delve into the book’s themes, symbolism, narrative structure, and its relevance to contemporary issues.
