***UPDATE: New Temporary Location at the Ohio University Zanesville Library***
Muskingum County Genealogical Society is temporarily located within the Ohio University Zanesville Library at Herrold Hall, 1425 Newark Road, Zanesville. The Genealogy Library is staffed by volunteers from 10 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Appointments may be made for Mondays and Thursdays. The Society has added access to Newspapers.com.
Other databases available through the Muskingum County Library System are Ancestry Library Edition, Fold3, and Heritage Quest. All of the yearbook collection is available at OUZ. You may also make research requests by emailing request@mccogs.com or calling 740.453.0391 ext. 139
The Society will be following the OUZ Schedule for holiday closings. Emergencies or weather conditions may keep the volunteer from coming to work. It is a good idea to call ahead if there are poor road conditions.
