OUTREACH
In 2018, the Outreach Services department was created to enhance everyone’s access to our library services. By reaching beyond our physical locations, we’ve created more inclusive and welcoming opportunities for all to enjoy the resources and services we offer.
Outreach Schedule
House Calls
House Calls is our free, monthly home delivery service designed for those who are unable to visit any of our six locations due to transportation challenges or other reasons. With House Calls, you can still access the library’s resources from the comfort of your home, including senior facilities where we offer regular programming. Let us bring the library to you! Contact us for more details.
Talking Books
The Ohio Library for the Blind and Print Disabled (OLBPD) provides free braille books, audiobooks, magazines, and playback devices to Ohio residents who are blind, visually impaired, or print disabled. Through mail or digital download via the BARD app, patrons can access a wide range of accessible reading materials. This service is part of the Talking Books program, offered in partnership with the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS), a division of the Library of Congress, ensuring free access to materials for individuals unable to read standard print.
Technology Help
Our library offers free one-on-one and group tech help sessions to assist with a variety of technology needs. Whether you’re learning to use a new device, accessing digital resources, or exploring emerging technologies like virtual reality or 3D printing, we’re here to help.
We also provide digital literacy certification through Northstar Digital Literacy, helping individuals and organizations improve essential tech skills.
